New Name for ICC

ICC Constitution and Proposed Changes

Special Meeting

A special general meeting has been scheduled to put a resolution to members to change our organisation’s name from Irrigated Cropping Council to Irrigation Farmers Network. This meeting will take place on Tuesday 23 May, 2023 at 8:30am via zoom.

As you know, our organisation has been dedicated to providing independent research, support and resources to farmers who rely on irrigation for their crop production. We aim to improve the profitability and long-term viability of mixed farmers and croppers in the irrigation areas of northern Victoria and southern New South Wales, through practical research, development and extension that leads to best practice.

We have recently updated our strategic plan which provided a renewed focus and understanding of the breath of work we do, which includes research, extension development and our network.

We believe that this name change accurately represents our organisation for the future and will remain dedicated to supporting farmers who rely on irrigation as a vital tool in their farming systems, and we hope that you will join us in supporting it.

We invite you to view the proposed updated constitution which clearly states the name change, on our website and invite you to join us for the special general meeting on May 23 where we will ask members to vote on the following resolution.

“Members resolve that the organisations name changes to Irrigation Farmers Network and that the rules be amended in accordance with this”.

Each member is entitled to appoint another member as a proxy by notice given to the Secretary no later than 24 hours before the time of the meeting in respect of which the proxy is appointed. The link to the proxy form is below.
